A Bridge Over Troubled Water

By duo Evan Balmuth and Lucy Morse

#DocsWhoRock shared this moving rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Featured pianist and Weill Cornell medical student Evan Balmuth said: “During the pandemic, a time when there’s been so much separation, I’ve been amazed by the ways music can nonetheless create a sense of togetherness. Last spring, I helped distribute collections of recordings made by medical students for patients isolated in the hospital. During some calls with these patients we listened to the recordings together, and I was moved by the sense of community the collections conveyed. Although it was no replacement for being together with friends and family, the patients appreciated this effort to express support through song – and despite us all being in different places, listening to my classmates’ music made me feel closer to them as well.” Evan is accompanied by the talented vocalist Dr. Lucy Morse.
